Nordplus Junior 2021 dvišalės partnerystės projektas „Kodėl mums reikalinga „žalia“ ateitis?“ (2021–2022 m.). Partneriai – Suomijos miesto Turku Kahari mokykla. Koordinatorės – Raimonda Salienė, Irina Šaripova.

Why do we need a greener future? That's the question that needs to be answered by Klaipėdos Gabijos progymansium (Lithuania) and Turku Kahari (Finland)'s youth taking part in the Nordplus project in 2021-2022. If the young generation understands the purpose of a greener future, they will take care of it. The project aims to help pupils find out reasons why they need a greener future and encourage them to take action. Being aware of the benefits that a greener future brings, pupils will develop their unique ideas for making their world a greener place every day.

Following the activity plan, our school has undertaken the following steps:

1. In September, Gabijos progymnasium created a project team of 6A class pupils and introduced the activity plan of the project to the progymnasium’s community.

2. In October, in the 6A classroom pupils’ parents have designed a green wall with hanging plants and presented a book “Mano žalioji oazė” (My Green Oasis) so that pupils could research how to take care of the plants.

 3. In October, a project team started to hike along a river Danė to enjoy nature’s beauty and learn to preserve nature by not leaving any rubbish. Classes have been held in the nearby park called Oak’s grove in order to spend more time in nature. On the Career’s day, many teachers and pupils preferred walking on foot in the fresh air to taking public transport when going to educational classes at Klaipeda Tourism School.

 4. In December, a group of active parents brought a 2,5-meter-high Christmas tree (a pine tree) into our progymnasium. By now, this pine tree has started growing and there are lots of buds with light green needles and small cones at the top. In spring, our progymnasium will plant this pine tree next to our school.

7. In February, our progymnasium will host an event called Teens and A Greener Future, in which pupils from four local schools will present their ideas how to make our planet a greener place to live and will answer the main question: Why do we need a greener future?

 8.  In Spring, teachers organized forest bathing and hiking along the Baltic sea for the whole school's community on the Sport day in Lithuania, as well as pupils from Finland spent three days on the Aland island to examine nature reserves.

Pupils visited educational lessons at local authorities about the landfills to understand how much rubbish people accumulate every day and learn how to recycle in the proper way. They also planted a little forest and organized a green place in class and now they enthusiastically take care of plants.
